SNOW!!

YEP, WE GOT SNOW! THE KIDS WERE REALLY MISSING IT SINCE THEIR FRIENDS IN OKLAHOMA TOLD THEM ALL ABOUT THE SNOWFALL THERE LAST WEEK. Anyway, the night it snowed, we had some people over for refreshments/fellowship and as the evening was coming to a close, and people were leaving....there was a knock at the door. It was our little neighbor boys from downstairs (who actually left a few minutes earlier from our apt.) asking if our kids could come outside for a snowball fight. At first I said "NO WAY". It's WAY too cold and approaching 10:00pm. Well, the boys (& sister) and THEIR Dad were throwing snowballs at Jacob's window, which made it all too tempting for Jacob to say the least. Well, I gave in and said okay (as Randy was saying goodbye to guests). They had a great time Saturday night making snowmen and throwing snowballs at each other. That's actually been the only time they've had time to play in the snow anyway, so I'm glad I (we) gave in!

Christmas is here!!

I love Christmas time! It's one of my favorite times of the year~I enjoy the baking and making crafts with the kids. The girls seem to really get into those things. I need to find something that Jacob and I like to do together at Christmas time. He did enjoy going to the Tree Farm to cut down our very 1st "real" tree. I got a kick out of him dragging that tree (with a few grunts here and there!) across the forest into the bale station. While I am talking about Jacob, I'll tell you a very sweet thing he did for his Momma while we were at the tree farm.....inside the "cottage" where they serve hot cider and sell odds-n-ends, Jacob spotted the perfect gift for me. He paid $2.50 for a beautiful angel pin with my birthstone. He could NOT wait to give it to me on Christmas Day~he begged me to open it a couple of days after we got home. I wore it with pride! Even though it's hard to get him to show his pearly whites for a photo these days, he has a very sweet heart. And while we're still on the subject of Christmas, I wouldn't be able to celebrate Christmas if it wasn't for Jesus being born over 2,000 years ago. Isaiah 7:14 says "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." Because of Jesus, we can celebrate this season. Some people celebrate it just because it is fun, some don't celebrate it at all (for various reasons) and some celebrate it because their personal Savior (Jesus!) is living and is returning some day. (1Thess. 4:16-18). We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!! Next blog in January!

We love you all very much!!

Rebekah turns 13

Well, we finally have a teenager in the house! WE are very blessed to have Rebekah as our daughter. She is a sweetie. We had a fun time at the Rain Forest Cafe in Seattle. She ate the "volcano" in a hurry, as others were taking a stab at it too! Actually, her favorite birthday cake is a CHEESE cake, so that's what was made at home in her honor!
Update on Substitute teacher: I am waiting (I think that was a blog post a while back actually!).
Anyway, the school district is supposed to be phoning the people that sent in references for me, so we'll see what happens next!
